It is more than two decades now that economic globalization has been purporting to bring about economic development, creating
jobs and higher standards of living. Opponents of globalization, on the other hand, are claiming that it increases inequality, threatens employment and living standards. After two decades or so, the process of economic globalization and the consequences it has produced are placed under scrutiny. It is derived that the world's income distribution has become more unequal, the number of people in absolute poverty has increased, and many jobs have been lost.
